Understanding Congenital Heart Defects - Ft. Dr. Bipin Dubey - Video
Overview
Congenital heart disease is a general term for a range of birth defects that affect the normal functioning of the heart. These conditions are present from birth, hence the term 'congenital.'
In this video, we explore Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week, observed from February 7th to February 14th annually. This campaign aims to raise awareness and educate people about congenital heart defects (C.H.D.), a potentially life-threatening constellation of birth defects affecting the heart.
This significant observance aims to shed light on the complexities and challenges associated with CHD, a spectrum of heart conditions present at birth. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, CHD Awareness Week seeks to empower individuals, families, and healthcare professionals to recognize the signs, advocate for early detection, and support those affected by CHD.
The Medical Dialogues team interacted with Dr. Bipin Dubey, a Pediatric Cardiologist, who will provide insights into this topic.
During the discussion, Dr. Dubey addressed the following key questions:
Q1) What are the early warning signs of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)?
Q2) How do congenital heart conditions differ across different age groups, and what are the ways to manage them?
Q3) How has medical technology advanced in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects?
Q4) How do advancements in genetic research contribute to our understanding of the genetic factors influencing congenital heart defects?
Q5) The long-term impact of congenital heart defects on an individual's quality of life?
