NMC grants Conditional Approval to Medical Colleges in Chhattisgarh - Video
Overview
NMC gives Conditional Approval to Chhattisgarh Medical Colleges
In a relief to the undergraduate medical education system in Chhattisgarh, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted a conditional approval to all state-run government and private medical colleges in the State for the academic session 2025-2026, as reported by the Hitavada
Earlier, these colleges had received notices from the Apex Medical Commission for failing to meet the essential standards.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that, noting critical faculty shortage along with a lack of essential resources, NMC had issued show-cause notices to the government medical colleges in Chhattisgarh. In some cases, the Commission had imposed a monetary penalty.
NMC had reportedly imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on Kanker Medical College, Rs 4 lakh fine on Durg Medical College, and Rs 3 lakh fine each in the medical colleges located at Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Mahasamund, and Jagdalpur. Further, the medical colleges in Mahasamund, Kanker, and Raigarh had also received show-cause notices over the shortage of faculty.
