Carrot ginger blend to help boost immunity in HIV patients
Overview
Carrots and Ginger are rich in nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that fight inflammation and strengthen the immune system. Carrots are a good source of carotenoids that have the effect of strengthening the immune system and good amount of antioxidants help in better health.
A study in Human Nutrition and Metabolism journal reported beneficial effects of carrot-ginger mixture as a natural source of micronutrients on healthy eating habits and CD4 + T-cell counts for HIV-positive patients on Anti-Retroviral Therapy in Kaduna, Nigeria.
Researchers concluded that Micronutrients supplementation is important during Anti Retroviral therapy treatment and carrot-ginger blend could be a beneficial adjunct to patients on Anti Retroviral therapy due to its potential towards improving the immune system and strengthened nutritional status in patients with HIV infection.
