Overview
Choice of food and feeding patterns is the most frequently asked questions by parents. Constipation is a growing concern as children food habits vary over the time, with a prevalence ranging from up to 29% normal frequency and consistency of stool varies with children`s age, and diet; there is also considerable variation across children.
In today’s video, to talk to us on how lifestyle factors like diet during the infancy period, feeding changes i.e. switch from breastfeeding to formula feeds or the initiation of solid foods trigger constipation, we have Dr. Lavenya R Padmanaban, Consultant- Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Rainbow Children's Hospital, Marathahalli, Bangalore.
She has an experience over 10 years of experience in Pediatrics and over 5 years of experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She completed her MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College and MD Pediatrics from the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, Madras Medical College. Subsequently in the UK she completed MRCPCH and trained in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King's College Hospital NHS Trust, London.
She has vast experience in managing children with common ailments and good expertise in managing children with complicated gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
