Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrinopathy that is highly prevalent in women of Indian ethnicity. Clinical practice guidelines do not adequately consider ethnic–cultural differences in the diagnosis and care of women with PCOS. Research indicates that women with PCOS experience lifelong metabolic, reproductive, and psychological consequences.

Dr. Duru Shah who has completed her MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. With over four decades of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Shah has made significant contributions to the medical community and is widely recognized for her exceptional work. She is the founder and president of the PCOS Society and a promoter of women's health and adolescent health in India. She has authored five books and published numerous research articles on topics related to women's health, adolescent health, and infertility.
