Amid the ongoing controversy concerning the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 examination, a plea has been filed calling for a re-evaluation of the OMR sheets instead of cancellation of the exam held on May 5th, 2024.

The petitioners, who appeared in the MBBS entrance exam this year, have contended that cancelling the exam would amount to "severe injustice" and will have serious repercussions on the candidates who have worked hard for the examination.

Delhi Hospital under investigation after pregnant woman's death allegedly caused by treatment delay

The medical staff at a government-run Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital in Malviya Nagar are facing accusations of medical negligence following the tragic death of a 38-week pregnant woman and her unborn child on Saturday.

According to reports, Singh the husband of the deceased alleged that the hospital staff failed to provide her with adequate treatment. He further claimed that no senior doctors attended her when she was experiencing complications at the hospital.

Pune reports first Zika Virus case in pregnant woman, total cases reach 5

Pune has reported its first case of a pregnant woman infected with the Zika virus, marking the fifth case in the city within the last ten days. The woman, from Erandwane, was identified through the Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) surveillance efforts following two earlier cases in the area. Currently undergoing treatment, she will be retested. Of the five cases, three are from Erandwane and two from Mundhwa.

Epidemiologist Dr Amitav Banerjee highlighted the concern of Zika in pregnant women due to the risk of microcephaly in newborns, especially if contracted in the first trimester. PMC Deputy Health Officer Dr Kalpana Baliwant confirmed the pregnant woman's diagnosis and noted her sonography report in May showed no fetal anomalies, with further updates awaited. PMC Assistant Health Officer Dr Rajesh Dighe stated none of the five cases have travel history, indicating local transmission. Surveillance has covered over 6,100 homes, identifying and eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites.

Strawberries are renowned for their delicious taste and potential health benefits. Recent research presented at Nutrition 2024, the American Society for Nutrition's annual meeting, highlighted the significant role strawberries can play in promoting heart health and improving glucose control.

The study involved 36 women and 32 men, aged 20 to 62 years, with an average body mass index (BMI) of 29.8 kg/m². Researchers explored the dose-related effects of strawberry intake on endothelial function, measured by flow-mediated dilation (FMD), a key indicator of cardiovascular health. Participants consumed strawberries daily for four weeks, with results compared to a control group.
