'Code Grey Protocol' Set to Be Enforced in Karnataka Medical Colleges to Ensure Doctors' Safety
Amidst the demands of doctors across the country for safety and security at their workplace, the Karnataka Government is planning to initiate a "Code Grey Protocol" which exists in the medical colleges and hospitals in Kerala.
Further, the State Government will also conduct continuous security audits to ensure the safety of women doctors, nurses, and other women staff in the medical college, The Hindu has reported.

On-duty doctor and nursing staff threatened by 2 security guards at Kolkata hospital
Kolkata: A nurse at a government hospital in Birbhum district, West Bengal, was allegedly molested and verbally abused by a male patient. The accused, who was undergoing treatment is alleged to have inappropriately touched the nurse while she was administering saline on Saturday night.
Following a complaint from the hospital authorities to the police, the accused was arrested. On Sunday, doctors and health staff from the hospital held a rally demanding 24/7 security for medical personnel.

Supreme Court review petition filed against NEET 2024 judgement
While the NEET counselling is being conducted in various states, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a review of its order that rejected the holding of NEET 2024 afresh.
The review plea filed by Kajal Kumari has sought reconsideration of the apex court order, as per a recent report by PTI.

EPS criticises Tamil Nadu Government for vacant positions in Government Hospitals
In a recent statement, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), the Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu, strongly criticized the state government for its failure to address the numerous vacancies in government hospitals.
EPS has highlighted that numerous critical positions across government hospitals in Tamil Nadu remain unfilled. This includes vacancies for deans at government medical colleges, as well as positions for doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff in the public health sector.

Junior doctors protest at Lalbazar, call for Kolkata Police Commissioner’s resignation
The indefinite strike by junior government doctors at outdoor patient departments (OPDs) entered its 25th day on Monday, with the protesting medics escalating their demonstrations by laying siege to Lalbazar, the Kolkata Police headquarters. They are demanding the resignation of City Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal, accusing him of failing to prevent the vandalism that occurred at R G Kar Hospital on August 14.
According to an UNI report, the Mamata Banerjee government has called a special two-day Assembly session starting Monday to table and pass a proposed bill to seek capital punishment for a convict in rape and murder of the women.
