NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam City Intimation Slips; Admit Cards to Be Released Soon

More than 22 lakh aspirants awaiting the NEET UG 2026 re-examination are expected to receive their city intimation slips and admit cards shortly, as the National Testing Agency prepares for the June 21 re-test. The examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode across the country in 13 languages following the cancellation of the May 3 exam amid a major paper leak controversy. Candidates will be able to download the city intimation slip from the official NTA portal using their application number and password to check their allotted examination city and make travel arrangements in advance, according to Careers360.

The re-exam comes as investigations into the alleged paper leak continue, with the Central Bureau of Investigation having arrested 13 people so far. The controversy erupted after investigators found a “guess paper” that reportedly matched a significant portion of the actual NEET question paper, prompting nationwide concern over exam integrity.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has declined to direct that the June 21 re-test be conducted in Computer-Based Test mode, citing practical challenges and the ongoing preparations for the examination. The NTA has also extended the deadline for candidates of the cancelled exam to submit bank account details for fee refunds until June 22.

NEET Re-Exam Questions, Scores Allegedly Offered for Sale Online Ahead of Exam

As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its investigation into the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case, another shocking allegation surfaced regarding the NEET re-examination on June 21.

As per a report by TOI, fresh racketeers have emerged online claiming to provide “re-exam question papers” and “guaranteed scores” in exchange for hefty payments.

Several private channels operating on social media platforms are allegedly targeting anxious students and parents, promising access to leaked papers and high marks.

NEET Paper Leak Row: Petitioners Allegedly Barred From Presenting Views Before Parliamentary Committee

Representatives of the United Doctors Front (UDF), which has approached the Supreme Court over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, were reportedly prevented from presenting their views before a Parliamentary Standing Committee after objections were raised by BJP members. The committee meeting was convened to discuss the merits and challenges of pen-and-paper examinations versus Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for national entrance exams. UDF had sought major reforms, including replacing the National Testing Agency (NTA) with a statutory examination body and had alleged systemic failures in the conduct of NEET-UG.

During the meeting, NTA officials informed the panel that NEET is expected to transition to CBT mode from 2027, while the immediate focus remains the smooth conduct of the June 21 re-examination, reports The New Indian Express.

Members also raised concerns over cybersecurity risks and the possibility of hacking in CBT-based exams, prompting the NTA to disclose that a special committee has been formed to examine the issue. The panel also sought details on measures taken to prevent future paper leaks, with officials assuring members that enhanced security arrangements are in place for the upcoming NEET re-exam.

Two US Scientists Charged Over Alleged Smuggling of Mpox Virus Vials From Africa

Two scientists from a U.S. government laboratory have been charged with allegedly smuggling vials of deactivated mpox virus into the United States from Africa and providing false information to investigators at a Michigan airport. Federal authorities identified the accused as Vincent Munster and Claude Kwe, both associated with Rocky Mountain Laboratories. According to investigators, the duo was stopped at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in January after returning from the Republic of the Congo. Authorities allege that they failed to declare biological materials and did not obtain the required permissions to transport the samples into the country.

The FBI said subsequent testing revealed the scientists were carrying vials containing deactivated mpox virus. Investigators further alleged that Munster denied possessing biological samples and claimed any required documentation was on his laptop, reports NDTV.

Officials stressed that smuggling biological materials without proper authorization could pose public health and security concerns. The case is under investigation, and both scientists are expected to appear in federal court in Montana. The incident comes amid continued global monitoring of mpox, a viral disease that can cause fever, rash and, in some cases, severe illness.
