Doctor attacked with knife at her clinic in Delhi
A 40-year-old woman doctor was allegedly stabbed by a man at her clinic in West Delhi's Tagore Garden Extension area on Saturday. Police said that prima facie, there is no angle of robbery and the attacker appears to be someone known to the victim.

What went wrong with NEET SS 2023 Exam? Doctors complain about painful experience
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super-speciality (NEET-SS) examination 2023, scheduled for September 29 and September 30, 2023, was delayed by two hours at various centres across India because of alleged technical glitches.
Apart from the delay in the exam, the students also complained about mismanagement in the exam and demanded a return of the thousands of exam fees that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) collected from the candidates.

Ghost faculty, low attendance plague medical colleges in 2022-23, National Medical Commission reveals
In a recent assessment conducted for the academic year 2022-23, the National Medical Commission (NMC) unveiled a disconcerting reality within a majority of medical colleges. These institutes were riddled with ghost faculties and senior residents, coupled with none meeting the mandated 50% attendance requirement. The assessment laid bare that the emergency departments were seldom visited as there was no assigned personnel present apart from the casualty medical officer.
A majority of the medical colleges assessed in 2022-23 were found to have ghost faculty and senior residents, and none of the institutes met the requirement of 50 per cent attendance, the National Medical Commission stated

2 doctors save baby with breathing issues on Delhi-bound flight
A baby with congenital heart disease developed severe breathing issues during a Ranchi-Delhi flight when two co-passengers, both doctors, came to the child's rescue.
IAS officer Dr Nitin Kulkarni, also a doctor by training, and a doctor from Ranchi Sadar Hospital gave oxygen supply using a mask meant for adults and other drugs as emergency medical assistance.
After the flight landed after an hour, a medical team took the baby under their care and provided oxygen support.

2023 Nobel for medicine awarded for mRNA vax against COVID
Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman have been jointly awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discovery of mRNA vax against Covid-19.
They received the honor “for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against Covid-19”, said the Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institutet in a statement.
Their groundbreaking findings have fundamentally changed the understanding of how mRNA interacts with our immune system, the Nobel committee said.
