Madhya Pradesh: Through a public notice, the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council (MPMC) has announced the commencement of the FMG Clinical Clerkship/Internship Counselling for the June 2025 session for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) who wish to begin their mandatory clinical training in medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh.

MP High Court issues notice on plea challenging NEET PG rule barring non-state MBBS graduates
Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently issued notice on a plea that challenged the notification and advisory barring candidates who completed MBBS outside the State from participating in the first round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 counselling for admission in the Government Medical College.
Issuing notice, the HC Division bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf, granted four weeks to the Director of Medical Education and the State Government to file their replies and listed the matter for January 2, 2026.

MP High Court issues notice on plea challenging NEET PG rule barring non-state MBBS graduates
Kerala hospital, surgeon, anaesthesiologist fined Rs 19.5 lakh for anaesthesia complications after orchidectomy
Kasaragod: Holding a Kerala-based private hospital and its doctors responsible for the death of a 21-year-old endosulfan victim, who underwent testicle surgery at the hospital, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) recently directed them to pay Rs 13.30 lakh as compensation to the parents of the patient, along with 6 percent per annum interest from the date of complaint till realisation.
Apart from this, the consumer court has also directed them to pay Rs 25,000 to the patient's family as the cost of litigation to the complainant within 30 days of the receipt of the Commission's order. In effect, the hospital and doctors will have to pay at least Rs 19.54 lakh, applying the 6% interest from February 7, 2018.

25 lakh Indians living with HIV, second highest globally: Report
India is home to an estimated 25.61 lakh people living with HIV (PLHIV) in 2024, making it the country with the second largest PLHIV population globally. According to a government report released on World AIDS Day, India’s annual HIV incidence rate remains low at 0.05 per 1,000 uninfected population, and adult HIV prevalence is 0.20%. Heterosexual transmission accounted for 73% of new infections, followed by injecting drug use (11.5%), homosexual/bisexual transmission (5.4%), and vertical transmission (3.5%).
Maharashtra (3.99 lakh), Andhra Pradesh (3.10 lakh), and Karnataka (2.91 lakh) report the highest PLHIV burdens, with nine states comprising 74% of India’s total cases, reports Medical Buyer.
