NEET PG 2026 Will Be Safe, Transparent and Secure, Says NMC Chief; Explains Exam Changes
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the NEET PG 2026 examination on August 30, with the National Medical Commission (NMC) assuring aspirants that the test will be conducted in a safe, secure and transparent manner.
Addressing concerns over misinformation surrounding the examination, NMC Chairperson Abhijith Sheth urged candidates to stay away from rumours circulating on social media and avoid agents or consultants. He said the computer-based nature of the examination, coupled with multiple objective security measures, makes disruptions highly unlikely and assured students that every effort has been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

Doctors' Body Protests at Delhi Medical Council Office Over FMG Internship Delays
Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) facing delays in securing their mandatory internships staged a protest at the Delhi Medical Council office, demanding an immediate resolution to their ongoing internship crisis.
The protest, called by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), was held at 11:30 AM at the Delhi Medical Council office.

Medical Colleges Cannot Charge MBBS Fees Beyond 4.5 Years, Fee Panel Can Only Fix Fees For Prescribed Duration: NMC Tells Kerala HC
After the Kerala High Court stayed the National Medical Commission's (NMC) order directing medical colleges to refund fees collected for an additional six months, the Commission recently informed the court that the authority to prescribe the duration of any medical course rests exclusively with the NMC and that the Fee Regulatory Committee can fix fees only for that duration.
Filing a statement before the Kerala High Court, the Commission said that medical colleges have no authority to collect fees beyond the prescribed 4.5-year MBBS course as fixed by the NMC.

Union Health Minister Chairs High-Level DDengue Preparedness Review Meeting in Delhi
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, has chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the preparedness for the prevention and control of dengue in Delhi. The meeting focused on reviewing the evolving epidemiological situation, evaluating the readiness of healthcare institutions and civic agencies.
The deliberations included a comprehensive review of the epidemiological situation, preparedness of municipal bodies, hospitals and the State Government, and an assessment of surveillance systems, clinical management protocols and vector control measures.
