UPSC invites applications for Professor (Pharmacology) position in 2023
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced an open recruitment for the position of Professor (Pharmacology) in 2023. This opportunity is limited to a single vacancy, and the chosen candidate will receive a monthly salary at level 13 of the pay matrix.
To be eligible for UPSC Recruitment 2023, candidates must possess a basic University or equivalent qualification as specified in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Additionally, they must be registered in a State Medical Register or the Indian Medical Register.
UP Medical Colleges told to begin teaching MBBS subjects in hindi
In a recent development, Uttar Pradesh medical colleges have been asked to begin teaching MBBS subjects in Hindi. As a part of the transition, the Uttar Pradesh govt has decided to introduce Hindi Textbooks in MBBS classes at all government medical institutions across the state soon.
The decision to introduce Hindi as a medium of instruction in government medical institutions in Uttar Pradesh is aimed at improving clarity and accessibility for students, especially those with a background in Hindi.

US nurse, who killed patients with insulin, admits to 19 other attempted murders
A nurse in Pennsylvania, USA, who had previously faced charges in connection with the deaths of two patients resulting from excessive insulin doses, has now admitted to harming 19 individuals across various rehabilitation facilities where she was employed.
The nurse, who goes by the name Heather Pressdee, stands accused of administering excessive insulin to these patients, regardless of their diabetic condition, starting in 2020. This resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 17 of these patients, according to a report by CNN.
AIIMS Delhi doctors innovatively use magnet to extract needle embedded in 7-year-old's lung
Doctors from AIIMS Delhi have successfully extracted a needle embedded in the left lung of a seven-year-old boy using a magnet, the hospital said on Saturday.
The intricate endoscopic procedure carried out by the Department of Paediatric Surgery was necessitated due to the location of the 4 cm needle within the lung and the limited space available for surgical instruments, it said.
