Pros and cons of MTP must be explained in local language: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court has issued directions to the Delhi police and medical board to explain the pros and cons of medical termination of pregnancy procedures to the rape victims and their guardians (in case of minors) in mother tongue, be it Hindi or English language.
"This court further orders that henceforth, in cases of medical termination of pregnancy in rape cases, the pros and cons of the medical termination of pregnancy will be explained in Hindi wherever the victim and her guardian in case of a minor victim understands Hindi, or English where they understand the said language," Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said in an order on November 4.

JIPMER introduces online evaluation system for theory exams, to launch new super-specialisation courses next year
With an aim to strengthen the internal evaluation process in the MBBS and postgraduate examination, the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has introduced an online evaluation system for high-quality assessment of theory examination papers.
Apart from this, the institute is also planning to launch six new super specialisation post MD/MS courses (post doctoral fellow) in various disciplines.

Doctor diagnosed with Congo virus dies in Pakistan's Quetta
A doctor diagnosed with the Congo virus has succumbed to the illness in Quetta, Pakistan, as reported by ARY News, a prominent Pakistani news channel. The doctor passed away while being transferred to Karachi for treatment, according to a spokesperson from the medical community.
Disturbingly, this incident is part of a larger outbreak of Congo virus fever in the region. So far this year, the hospital has admitted 41 patients afflicted with the virus. Regrettably, 16 of these patients have lost their lives, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the urgent need for effective measures to combat the disease.
