Through a recent release, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has unveiled its first publication, an E-Book titled "Professional Conduct Review - Lessons from Case Archives" by the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB).

The launch event took place on October 5, 2023, at the Board's Conference Room in NMC, New Delhi, in the presence of NMC Chairman Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, the release by NMC Media/Publication Division further mentioned.

Include more Govt sites: CDSCO panel tells Glenmark on asthma drug combination

Citing that more government sites shall be included in the study with geographical distribution, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) functional under the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has opined the drug major Glenmark Pharmaceutical to revise Phase III clinical trial protocol of Glycopyrrolate plus Fluticasone Furoate plus Vilanterol Trifenatate Powder for inhalation in capsule, indicated for the treatment of uncontrolled asthma.

Teen passes away after allegedly consuming 15 hypertension pills; hospital faces scrutiny

A 15-year-old boy, a class X student from a prominent school in south Kolkata, passed away at a Bagha Jatin private hospital, leading to allegations of negligence by his parents. The hospital claimed that the boy had ingested 15 pills meant to control blood pressure all at once, which could be highly toxic. The parents allegedly refused to admit him to the hospital, despite the treating doctor's advice.

First-ever Powassan virus death recorded in Maryland US

The Maryland Department of Health has reported the first travel-related Powassan virus death in the state. The presence of the Powassan virus, which is transmitted through tick bites, was confirmed on September 22, and subsequent tests reaffirmed this finding.
