For the first time patient sleeps for 7 hours after 7 years
A lifesaving Mitraclip procedure was performed on a 77-year-old man. The patient was suffering from sleeplessness at night for almost 7 years due to debilitating effects of severe Mitral Regurgitation, where abnormal leakage of blood flow backward through the mitral valve.
WHO flags India-made syrup in latest warning over contaminated drugs
The World Health Organization on Monday flagged a batch of contaminated common cold syrup, manufactured by an Indian company, the latest in a series of warnings by the agency about substandard medicines from the country.
The United Nations agency said the batch of the syrup, branded Cold Out, found in Iraq was manufactured by Fourrts (India) Laboratories for Dabilife Pharma, and had higher than acceptable limit of contaminants diethylene and ethylene glycol.

MBBS and BDS fee structure for the current academic year in Madhya Pradesh
The Department of Medical Education in Madhya Pradesh (MP DME) has released the fee structure for MBBS and BDS courses being offered at various institutes in the state this academic year. The fee structure has been fixed by the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee of MP.
All the concerned NEET-qualified candidates seeking MBBS and BDS admissions into MP-based medical and dental colleges are advised to check out the fee details mentioned below.

How will medical colleges be rated? QCI releases draft standardised procedure
Bringing uniformity in the process of assessment and rating of medical colleges, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has published the "Draft Framework for Accreditation and Ranking of Colleges Regulated by National Medical Commission" on its website.
The Draft includes common assessment and rating criteria, which have been prepared by the Quality Council of India (QCI). Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that last month on July 5, 2023, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of NMC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with QCI for the purpose of assessment and rating of medical colleges. The MoU was signed by the President of MARB Dr. BN Gangadhar and Dr. Varinder Kanwar, the CEO of QCI.
