Emphasising transparency as an important factor, the Supreme Court today mentioned that it will examine whether publishing the answer keys for the postgraduate medical entrance exam- NEET PG, would compromise the integrity of the examination.

However, the Apex Court has clarified that it will not go into individual allegations of discrepancies in the NEET-PG 2025 exam. During the hearing, the counsel for NBE referred to the policy under which the students are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement with regard to the answer keys.

Highlighting that many postgraduate medical aspirants are in trouble due to incomplete registration/NRI quota issues because of technical glitches, the doctors have now requested the Union Health Ministry and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to reopen the portal.

Amid the recent objections from students over the directive concerning two years of Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council has asked the medical graduates from abroad to submit the required documents to review their specific cases.

Students have been asked to submit an official certificate from the Parent University, a detailed logbook/records, proof of attendance, and a passport with visa stamps of an extended period of offline compensation.

Doctors, especially new mothers at Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in Jammu and Kashmir, have strongly criticised the state government's decision to refuse to pay salaries during maternity and paternity leaves for senior resident doctors, something they consider a ‘fundamental right,’ not a privilege. They have demanded an immediate rollback of the order.

The medical fraternity is opposing a recent order issued by the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, which turns maternity and paternity leaves into unpaid leaves. They called the decision 'unethical, discriminatory, and a violation of basic rights.'
