Australian woman passed away after using Ozempic
A 56-year-old Australian woman named Trish Webster passed away after using Ozempic in an attempt to lose weight for her daughter's wedding. Her husband, Roy Webster, is warning others about the potential risks associated with the drug. Ozempic is a medication primarily used for Type 2 diabetes but is also used for weight loss by slowing down food digestion and promoting a feeling of fullness. However, it can lead to severe issues if it excessively slows down the stomach or blocks the intestines, a condition known as "ileus."
Zolgensma: the Rs 17 crore injection for spinal muscular atrophy
A single dose of Zolgensma, a gene therapy used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in children under two, costs a staggering Rs 17 crore (USD 2.1 million). This exorbitant price has drawn attention, particularly due to the case of a 15-month-old boy in Karnataka, India, who is facing an uncertain future.
NEET SS Counselling 2023: MCC begins registrations for DM, MCh, DNB SS admissions
Ending the wait for DM, MCh and DNB SS aspirants this year, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the tentative schedule for NEET SS 2023 counselling (allotment process) for this academic year.
The candidates who have been placed in the 50th percentile or above have been declared qualified and are eligible to apply for NEET SS counselling on the official website of MCC.
As per the counselling schedule, the MCC has begun the counselling registrations today and the candidates can apply and make fee payment till November 14. The registration window will close at 12 pm on the deadline and the payment window will remain open till 3 pm.

Cardiologist arrested for allegedly implanting low-quality pacemakers in around 600 patients
Following a thorough two-year investigation into complaints made by patients who claimed to have been deceived by a doctor, resulting in the receipt of substandard pacemakers and subsequent health complications, the Etawah police arrested a cardiologist on Tuesday in connection with the case.
According to a News18 report, the doctor was an assistant professor in the cardiology department at Saifai Medical University. The doctor allegedly implanted low-quality pacemakers in around 600 patients at the university between 2017 and 2019 which is also allleged to have resulted in the death of many patients following the complications from the poor quality.
