India's first monkeypox death in Kerala
A 22-year-old youth who reached Palakkad district of Kerala from a middle eastern country died on Sunday, suspected to be India's first monkeypox death.
The state health department has asked the district health officials to create a route map of his trip ever since he had landed in his hometown.

No changes in MBBS, BDS fee for Gujarat Institutes this year
In a major relief to the MBBS and BDS students in Gujarat, the Fee regulatory Committee has decided to keep the fees for the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 unchanged from 2021-22.
Therefore, the students pursuing MBBS course in the Government quota seats will have to pay fees ranging from Rs 5.93 lakh to Rs 8.70 lakh. While the management quota students will be liable to pay fees ranging from Rs 14.82 to Rs 18.40 lakh.

Failure of treatment not ground for negligence: Consumer Court exonerates Delhi based Gynaecologist, Hospital
Observing that there was no evidence to prove medical negligence, the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC) recently exonerated a gynaecologist and a Delhi based Hospital as the complainant could not submit any evidence on record to prove negligence.
It was the allegation of the patient that she suffered problems in her hand because a staff nurse of the hospital gave her a Metro 100 intramuscular injection and not intravenous

CCTV Mandatory: NMC directs all Medical Institutes to install cameras, prescribes list
With an aim to amp up the regulatory measures including the development of a potent monitoring mechanism bringing more transparency and accountability in the functioning of medical institutions across the country, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to install cameras at their premises. Accordingly, the apex medical regulator has released a list of prescribed spots and the number of cameras to be installed.
The advisory to this effect issued under the authority of the NMC Chairman, Dr Suresh Chandra Sharma calls for the installation of a total of 25 CCTV cameras on the campus.
