The Comptroller and Auditor General of India's audit of Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services in Rajasthan revealed that neither the composition nor the functioning of the Rajasthan Medical Council was in accordance with the requirements of the Rajasthan Medical Act. In this regard, the CAG report called for the State Government's action to monitor the functioning of the State Medical Council to ensure effective regulation by the body.
The Performance Audit, covering the period between 2016-2022, assessed the healthcare services provided in the State of Rajasthan.

In major news for students intending to use PG medical courses in Uttar Pradesh, 1,007 postgraduate medical (MD, MS) seats will be increased in the medical institutions of the state.
After the increase of these seats, the total number of postgraduate medical seats in the state will reach 5,035.

After a long wait, Karnataka is set to establish two institutes modelled on the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Mysore and Kalaburagi. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the development during the state budget session on Friday.
The Institutes will be developed at a cost of ₹100 crore in Mysuru and Kalaburagi. The NIMHANS institute in Mysore will be set up at at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI), which is under the Department of Medical Education (DME).
