MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 tentative schedule out, registrations from Sept 20
New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the tentative schedule of online counselling for National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) courses for the academic year 2024. The counselling will be held for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) and 100% deemed/central universities/AFMS.
As per the schedule, NEET PG counselling 2024 will begin on September 20, 2024, and continue till December 10, 2024. From this, round 1 will begin from 20th September 2024 to 10th October 2024. Round 2 will begin from 14th October 2024 to 5th November 2024, round 3 will begin from 7th November 2024 to 26th November 2024 and the stray vacancy round will begin from 28th November 2024 to 10th December 2024.

NMC releases detailed SOP on how to submit appeals against state medical council orders
To ensure a standardized process for the disposal of appeals received from the Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) against the decisions of the State Medical Councils (SMCs), the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released a Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for handling these appeals.
Through a recent notice, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of NMC informed that the SOP covers the different stages of handling an appeal- from receiving of appeal from the appellant to the disposal of the appeal.

Agreed to get medically examined at AIIMS Delhi, Puja Khedkar informs High Court
Controversial former probationary IAS officer Dr Puja Khedkar who was booked by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for cheating and forgery of documents has shown her willingness before the Delhi High Court to get herself medically examined at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi.
Appearing before the court on Thursday, she said, "I am willing to get myself medically examined. First, they say I changed my name. Now they say disability is questionable. I am willing to go to AIIMS."

GST reduced from 12% to 5% on cancer drugs
In an effort to reduce the overall cost for the treatment of cancer, the GST Council decided to reduce the GST rate on certain cancer drugs from 12 per cent to 5 per cent in a meeting held on Monday. These drugs are Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, Osimertinib, and Durvalumab.
In another decision, GST rate has been reduced prospectively from 18 per cent to 12 per cent for namkeens and savoury items.
