Healthcare workers global shortage may increase to 10 mn by decade-end: WEF study
According to a new report, the shortage of healthcare workers worldwide may rise to 10 million by the end of the decade, affecting access to care, inequities, and mental health treatment.
The report, titled 'Global Health and Healthcare Strategic Outlook,' said that the fastest vaccine development in history demonstrated the enormous potential of public-private partnerships and outcomes-based regulation.
The report, prepared with LEK Consulting, is likely to be discussed further by leaders at the WEF Annual Meeting 2023 in Davos from January 16-20.

'Off-season' chickenpox and herpes cases on the rise which leaves patients, doctors baffled in Kolkata
An off-season surge in chickenpox and herpes cases has left doctors and patients in Kolkata stumped this winter. Chickenpox cases are more frequently reported during the February- April period. But scores have been suffering from it since mid-December.
While chickenpox spreads through droplets, herpes can be transmitted through physical contact.
