Delhi Health Minister Denies Medicine Shortage at Government Hospitals
New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Friday dismissed a media report as baseless, stating that there is no shortage of medicines and consumables in government hospitals.
Pankaj Kumar Singh conducted a review of the drug availability across government healthcare facilities and announced that the media report was aimed at creating unwarranted fear among the public.
Medical Superintendents of hospitals, including Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Mangolpuri, confirmed that there was no shortage of essential medicines.

Kerala Waives Rs 10 Lakh Penalty for MBBS Student Who Failed First Year After 4 Attempts
Thiruvananthapuram: An MBBS student from the Government Medical College (GMC) Manjeri, who failed to clear the first-year MBBS examination after four attempts, has been granted relief by the Kerala Government. The state has exempted the student from paying the discontinuation fee.
The student was admitted to the MBBS course back in 2021 and was pursuing her MBBS course at GMC, Manjeri.
As per the prospectus for admission to professional degree courses, if candidates after getting admitted to courses in Government/Self-financing medical & dental colleges for MBBS/BDS courses discontinue the course after the third allotment in the same academic year, to join other courses/colleges or for other purposes, they have to pay liquidated damages of Rs 10 lakh for MBBS course and Rs 5 lakh for BDS courses.

Consumer Court Clears Hospital and Doctors in Placenta Praevia Grade IV Hysterectomy Case
New Delhi: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) New Delhi recently exonerated a Hospital and its four doctors- including Medical Superintendent, Gynecologist, General Surgeon and Anaesthetist, from charges of medical negligence while treating a patient suffering from complete placenta praevia Grade-IV, a high-risk obstetric condition.
In order to save the patient's life, the general surgeon performed an emergency termination of pregnancy after obtaining consent and since the patient's attendants did not give consent for a hysterotomy, the patient was later referred to Lady Hardinge Hospital, observed the Commission.

Uttar Pradesh: In the medical admission fraud case, a group of fraudsters posing as medical admission consultants duped four people of Rs 1.26 crore by promising them MBBS seats in prestigious private medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. The fraudsters have now disappeared with the hefty sum of money.
The group of fraudsters set up a fake consultancy office in Vijayant Khand, Gomti Nagar.
The matter came to light when a resident of Azamgarh filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station. According to Cyber Cell Inspector Brijesh Kumar Yadav, the man had searched online for MBBS admission options for his nephew in June...
