NCDRC exonerates Apollo hospital doctors, holds no negligence in treating patient with viral Hepatitis E infection,
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently exonerated the Apollo Hospital Chennai and its doctors from the charges of medical negligence while treating a patient diagnosed with Viral Hepatitis E infection.
Such a decision was taken by the top consumer court after it took note of the expert medical board of AIIMS's opinion stating that the doctors had managed the patient appropriately.

XE symptoms may include loss of taste and smell, say experts
The XE variant shows the common symptoms of the Delta variant, a dominant variant during 2nd wave, i.e., loss of taste and smell," say experts. Mild fever, cough, runny nose and a sore throat could also be common among those afflicted with the strain.
Even though it could be milder than Omicron, XE is believed to be around 10 times more transmissible than the BA.2 variant. Recombinants or a combination of mutant strains could have inconsistent and variable symptoms, according to Peerless Hospital microbiologist Bhaskar Narayan Chaudhuri.
Cadila Pharma launches Three-dose rabies vaccine ThRabis
Pharmaceutical major Cadila Pharmaceuticals on friday announced that it has developed the world's first novel three-dose vaccine against rabies.
The three-dose vaccine, named as 'ThRabis', is a recombinant nano-particle based G protein vaccine which is prepared using Virus-like Particle technology, the company said in a release, adding that the three-dose schedule is spread over only one week.

Kolkata doctor shoulder dislocated by kin after death of patient
On 9th April Night at Howrah District Hospital a critical patient succumbed and just after that patient's relatives including his son assaulted doctors, nurses and hospital staffs. On duty medical officer Dr Nabarun Majumder had suffered grievous bodily harm - dislocation of right shoulder due to the incident. West Bengal Doctors Forum strongly condemns this heinous incident and urged to impose strongest sections of IPC including 506,326 to the perpetrators.
West Bengal doctor's forum urged to the Government and Health Department to refrain from provoking the general public against the medical fraternity and ensure Safety and Workplace and Zero tolerance to Violence in hospitals and against healthcare staffs.
