8 more drug Manufacturers bag approvals under PLI scheme
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has recently approved 8 more manufacturers under PLI scheme for promotion of domestic manufacturing of critical Key Starting Materials (KSMs), Drug Intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in the country. The setting up of these 8 plants will lead to total committed investment of about Rs.151.12 crore by the companies and employment generation of about 1,951.
The approval is given for Cyclohexane Diacetic Acid, Ofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Aspirin, Artesunate, Vitamin B6.

Centre assures action on NEET PG Counselling delay: Doctors Suspend strike for 1 week
In the latest development regarding the ongoing strike by resident doctors in Delhi, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) have decided to suspend their strike activities for the time being and resume OPD and emergency services.
Such a decision has been taken by the doctors after they received strong assurances from the Union Health Ministry and the Central Government that the issue regarding the pending NEET-PG Counselling would be resolved soon.

NMC re-invites applications for establishment of new Medical Colleges, increase in MBBS seats for next year
Through a recent notification, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has re-invited applications from concerned authorities and various stakeholders across the country seeking the establishment of new medical colleges and/or increase MBBS seats for the academic year 2022-23.
The applications deadline had ended on 26th September 2021, however, the apex medical regulatory body has given one more opportunity to apply for obtaining the said permissions.

Private hospitals to hike treatment package rates by 5-10 percent: Report
Amid rising overhead costs, private hospitals are planning to increase treatment package rates by 5 to 10 percent, reports Economic Times.
With this, medical treatments may get more expensive next year as prominent private hospital chains including Apollo and Fortis are likely to revise package rates by the end of 2021-22.

The setting up of these 8 plants will lead to a total committed investment of Rs. 260.40 crore by the companies and employment generation of about 2,599.
The approval is given for MRI Coils, Anesthesia workstation, Anesthesia Unit Gas Scavengers, Anesthesia Kits, Masks —Anesthesia, Anesthesia Unit Vaporizers, Anesthesia Unit Ventilators, Automated external defibrillators (AEDs), Oxygen concentrator, other products Bi- Phasic Defibrillators, Infusion pumps - Syringe and Volumetric, Intensive Care Ventilators, Emergency Ventilators, High Flow Oxygen Devices, Multi-parameter Monitor, Suction Machine, Anesthesia Unit Ventilators, Dialyzer, Oxygen Concentrators, Hip Implants, Knee Implants, other Product Trauma Implant, Heart Valves, Stents and PTCA Balloon Catheter, Stents, PTCA Balloon Catheter, Drug Eluting Stents, and Drug Eluting Balloon.
