NBE Invites Accreditation Applications for DNB, DrNB, FNB Courses January–May 2026 Cycle
The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has invited applications from Hospitals, Medical Institutions and Medical Colleges for accreditation to DNB, DrNB and FNB Courses (January May 2026 Cycle).
In this regard, NBE has issued a notification detailing the schedule and general guidelines.

Telangana HC Issues Notices to Six Medical Colleges Over NEET PG Admissions
In a recent judgment, the Telangana High Court issued notices to six private medical colleges for allegedly filling postgraduate medical seats under the MQ3 Institutional quota through NEET PG 2025 in an irregular manner.
In the notice, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin asked the colleges to explain the allegations that the admissions were made in violation of the prescribed rules and also in an arbitrary and non-transparent manner, making the process illegal.

Internship Stipend Row: Supreme Court Directs AMU to Pay Senior FMGs
Directing Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to release the pending stipend to senior foreign medical graduates (FMGs) from the 2023-2024 batch within three weeks, the Supreme Court observed that if junior FMGs have already been granted a stipend in its previous judgment, then seniors who completed their internship earlier are also entitled to the same benefit.
The top court, led by a division bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and Prasanna B Varale, noted that the senior FMGs would stand on the same footing as the juniors and cannot be treated differently from Indian medical graduates (IMGs) when it comes to internship stipend. It clarified that paying them less or not paying at all amounts to discrimination.

Supreme Court Issues Notice on PIL to Exclude Doctors from Consumer Protection Act
Taking up a plea seeking exclusion of doctors under the Consumer Protection Act, the Supreme Court of India issued notices to the Union Government and the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The issue of whether doctors should fall under the Consumer Protection Act has once again been brought before the Supreme Court after the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) filed a writ petition asking for directions to the Centre and the National Medical Commission (NMC) to declare that services performed by healthcare service providers are not included in the purview of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019; and Direct all consumer forums to not accept complaints filed under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 against healthcare service providers.
