Doctors measure blood pressure wrongly, says report
Over half of patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure achieved controlled blood pressure measurements after participating in a remote digital monitoring program, according to new research to be presented at the American Heart Association’s Hypertension Scientific Sessions 2023, held Sept. 7-10, 2023, in Boston. The meeting is the premier scientific exchange focused on recent advances in basic and clinical research on high blood pressure and its relationship to cardiac and kidney disease, stroke, obesity and genetics.
“Although medication to treat hypertension is effective, blood pressure has been historically challenging to control because patients need to make significant lifestyle and behavioral changes, too,” said lead study author Irina Yermilov, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., chief medical officer of CAREMINDr.
