Credit points now mandatory pan India, all doctors have to attend CPD programs
New Delhi: With the new Code of Conduct being released for doctors across the country, attending Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programs and consequently earning 30 credit hours in a 5-year period will have to be mandatory for all doctors for renewal of licence to practice. Violation of the same can lead non-renewal of registration and may also lead to a suspension of license for a period of 30 days.
The National Medical Commission notified “National Medical Commission Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2023 which have come in force effective 2nd August, 2023

High intake of trans-fatty acids increases coronary heart disease risk, informs Mansukh Mandaviya
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has informed Lok Sabha that consumption of trans-fatty acids in large quantities increases the risk of coronary heart disease. Packaged foods, baked goods, cooking oil and spreads are the common source of industrially produced trans-fat, Mandaviya in reply to a question raised in Parliament.
"Approximately 5,40,000 deaths each year are estimated to be attributed to the intake of industrially produced trans-fatty acids," the minister stated.

Viral Video: Sprite bottle instead of urinal bag attached to patient at Bihar Hospital
A shocking incident has come to the fore from Jamui's Sadar Hospital, where instead of applying a urine drainage bag to a patient lying on the bed in a critical condition, the hospital workers put an empty bottle of Sprite cold drink.
The patient was brought to the Sadar Hospital by the Jhajha Railway Police in an unconscious state on Monday night. Following this, the doctor after conducting an examination instructed the health workers to apply a urinal bag and give an insulin injection along with a gas pipe for resuscitation.
