'Sanctity of NEET affected!': Supreme Court seeks response from NTA, refuses to halt NEET 2024 counselling
Deliberating upon the plea alleging paper leak and thus seeking NEET 2024 re-exam, the Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA). Seeking the agency's response in the matter, the bench strongly observed, "Sanctity has been affected, so we need answers." While the apex court has listed the matter for July 8th, 2024 for further hearing, it has refused to halt the NEET 2024 counselling process.
A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah was moved by the petition filed by Shivangi Mishra and nine others on June 1.

Supreme Court junks plea alleging discrepancies in NEET PG 2022 scores
Considering the passage of time since the conduction of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduation (NEET-PG) 2022 examination, the Supreme Court, on June 11, dismissed the pleas that alleged discrepancies in the exam and sought disclosure of answer keys and answer sheets of the NEET PG 2022 exam.
The pleas were dismissed by the vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, who considered the petitions to be infructuous after the lapse of considerable time.

Child in West Bengal had bird flu, recovered and was discharged: WHO
A girl in West Bengal was diagnosed with avian influenza A(H9N2) on May 22, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported on Wednesday. This marks the second human infection of avian influenza A(H9N2) in India, with the first case reported in 2019. The child has since recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
The WHO release detailed that the child, initially diagnosed with hyperreactive airway disease, presented with fever and abdominal pain on January 26. She developed seizures on January 29 and was admitted to the pediatric ICU on February 1 with severe respiratory distress, high-grade fever, and abdominal cramps. She was initially diagnosed with post-infectious bronchiolitis due to viral pneumonia and tested positive for influenza B and adenovirus on February 2.
