An abandoned bag found at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Thursday, triggered a bomb scare, prompting an immediate response from dog squads and bomb disposal teams.
The bomb squad found nothing suspicious in the bag. After a thorough examination, they discovered only a bottle of cold drink, a few pieces of paper, and some fruit.

Unattented bag at RG Kar College sparks panic amid doctors' protest
In a shocking incident, a first-year paediatrics resident doctor at Sarojini Naidu Medical College was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl patient who was admitted to the pediatric department of the hospital.
Apart from arresting the accused and sending him to judiciary jail on the court's order, Sarojini Naidu Medical College Principal Dr Prashant Gupta has suspended the accused and constituted three committees to probe the charges. These three committees are disciplinary, departmental, and internal.
