Delhi HC orders urgent paramedical staff recruitment, calls it crucial for health management
The Delhi High Court has directed the city government to speed up the recruitment of nursing officers, paramedical staff, and specialist doctors to strengthen healthcare services in the capital. The court said appointments must be made immediately after results are declared, without waiting for the completion of recruitment for other posts.
The court was reviewing status reports showing that over 1,507 nursing officers and 44 posts of paramedical staff have already been selected, with postings underway, while 770 of the paramedical positions have been advertised and the examination process for recruitment of the same is under process.
Among them, some posts, such as audiometric assistants, assistant security officers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, had their advertisements cancelled. As a result, the court ordered these to be reissued and asked the government to provide the reasons for the cancellation of these posts.

Salem Surgeon uses Robotic Technology to perform surgery on Chennai Patient
South India witnessed its first telesurgery on Friday, performed as part of the Annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India – Tamil Nadu Chapter (ASI-TN) in Salem.
Dr. Parimuthukumar successfully performed a hernia surgery using advanced robotic-assisted technology, operating remotely from a private hospital in Salem while the patient was situated nearly 350 kilometres away in Chennai.

The repeated extension of the choice filling window for NEET UG Round 1 of counselling has drawn backlash, as the medical aspirants on social media have accused the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of playing with their future.
Issuing a notice on August 10, MCC extended the choice-filling window once again- reportedly for the seventh consecutive time. MCC extended the choice filling till August 11, when MCC was supposed to release the result of round 1 seat allotment on August 11 as per its revised schedule released on August 8, 2025.

Delhi Consumer Court exonerates Private Hospital, Cardiologist in Rs 5.5 Crore Medical Negligence Case
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently exonerated a Delhi-based hospital and its cardiologist from allegations of medical negligence.
It was observed by the Apex Consumer Court that there was a delay in granting consent by the patient's family on time. Further, the Commission took note of the fact that the complaint against the treating doctor was dismissed by the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI), now the National Medical Commission (NMC).
