NMC Dhanvantari logo a matter of pride: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya defends new logo in Parliament
Defending the new Dhanvantari logo of the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has termed it to be a "matter of pride".
Amid the objections from several doctors against the Commission's decision to place the photo of Dhanvantari, a Hindu deity, in the middle, Minister Mandaviya opined that Lord Dhanvantari is an icon in the medical field for India and everyone should be proud of its heritage and culture.

Health Ministry directs NBE to reduce NEET SS cut-off to 20 percentile
Bringing relief to the postgraduate medical aspirants seeking to secure admission into super-speciality courses, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has directed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to reduce the cut-off qualifying percentile for NEET SS 2023 to 20 percentile points.
The Health Ministry took this decision after consulting the matter with the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Apex medical education regulatory body in India.

PGI doctors ensure successful pregnancy and delivery in paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria patient
In a highly unusual occurrence, doctors at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) achieved a successful pregnancy and delivery for a patient diagnosed with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare disorder causing the breakdown of red blood cells. PNH poses a significant risk of arterial and venous thrombosis, making pregnancy a relative contraindication for affected individuals, and successful outcomes in such cases are infrequently documented.
