NMC releases FAQs on CBME regulation
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has now released some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) course curriculum in the "nature of explanation for ease of understanding of the general public".
After releasing the draft in June 2023, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC published the final Competency-Based Medical Education Regulations 2023 on August 01, 2023.

Demand for NEET PG cut-off reduction intensifies
The demand for a reduction in the cut-off for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) counselling 2023 is escalating further as the doctors have now urged the Union Government authorities in this regard.
Writing to the Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has now requested the authorities to reduce the NEET PG 2023 cut-off percentile up to 30% so that most of the seats are filled in both clinical and non-clinical branches.

NMC’s new rules spell out harsh penalties for misrepresentation by medical teachers
In the recently released Draft Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER) 2023, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has spelt out harsher penalties for misrepresentation not only by medical colleges but also by the faculties working in those institutes.
This penalty comes in the form of a financial penalty as the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of NMC has clarified that faculties of medical colleges will be charged up to Rs 5 lakh rupees and they will also be charged or penalized for misconduct under the Professional Conduct Regulations.
