Dermatologists move High Court, seek action against dentists performing hair transplant surgeries
Claiming that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are not 'qualified' to perform Aesthetic and Hair Transplant Surgery, an association of dermatologists has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in this regard before the Bombay High Court.
Filing the plea, the petitioners- Dynamic Dermatologist and Hair Transplant Association challenged the guidelines issued by the Dental Council of India (DCI) on December 6. 2022.

On-duty doctor at Kolkata hospital threatened with same fate as RG Kar medico
In a shocking incident, an on-duty woman doctor at Apollo Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata was allegedly threatened with rape and murder by the kin of a patient. The threats reportedly followed an altercation between the patient's family and the doctor over claims of delayed treatment.
According to the PTI report, the son of a patient admitted to a private medical establishment in Kolkata allegedly threatened a doctor there that she would end up with the same fate as the medic of the RG Kar hospital, police said on Thursday.

BMC's POSH committee finds Nair Hospital associate professor guilty of sexually harassing MBBS student
An associate professor of BYL Nair Hospital has been found guilty after a sexual harassment allegations complaint filed by a MBBS student who is also a athlete were proven true. The BMC-run Local Complaints Committee (LCC) - BMC's Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) committee which investigated the sexual harassment complaint issued a series of recommendations including the immediate transfer of the professor until the student finishes her studies.
It had given the hospital 15 days to confirm that the recommendations had been implemented. LCC is a key component of the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 which addresses the issue of sexual harassment of women in workplaces and is a forum for the redressal of such complaints.

SC seeks NBE's response on plea seeking disclosure of NEET-PG 2024 answer keys
The Supreme Court has asked the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to respond to a plea seeking disclosure of answer keys and question papers of the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 examination along with other measures to ensure transparency in the PG medical entrance test.
After several controversies, NBE conducted the NEET-PG 2024 exam on August 11 and its results were declared on August 23. The counselling for admission to PG medical courses is set to commence from September 20.
