A doctor employed with Air India has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 1 lakh by a Special CBI court in Gujarat for demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 in exchange for providing a favourable medical report for a recruit.
In two separate cases, the CBI booked a hotel owner in Uttarakhand for duping a bank of Rs 11 crore and an iron casting company in Rajasthan of Rs 9.62 crore for cheating after taking a loan from a bank, an official said on Thursday.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday announced to set up a new Medical College and Hospital in Jehanabad district. The new facility is set to enhance healthcare services for the local population.
Kumar during his "Pragati Yatra " in Jehanabad, said that the state government had decided to establish a new Medical College and Hospital in this district which would help in providing better treatment facilities to people of the region.

According to the news reports an official from the DMER said that these posts include 428 lecturers, 167 associate professors, and 71 professors for government medical colleges. While it does not cover all vacant posts, it is a major relief for government medical colleges that are currently managing contractual teachers.
