Parliamentary Panel Proposes NEET PG Reservation Incentives for Doctors Serving in Rural Areas
To encourage MBBS doctors to serve in rural and remote areas, a Parliamentary Standing Committee recently recommended in its report to offer competitive pay, incentives, additional marks, or reservation in the NEET PG exam.
Further, the panel has also recommended scaling up multi-skilling and continuous professional development programmes as a measure to enhance career prospects for doctors serving in difficult areas.

MP Medical Council Notifies FMG Internship Counselling December 2025 Schedule and Guidelines
The Madhya Pradesh Medical Council (MPMC) has issued detailed guidelines for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) seeking to begin their Clinical Clerkship/Internship in the state, in line with the regulations laid down by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The council has mandated that eligible FMGs must submit their applications online within the prescribed schedule, with seat allotment to be carried out on a pro-rata basis depending on availability across medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

Madras High Court Rules Temporary Service Counts for Super-Speciality Admissions, Grants Relief to Doctors
The Madras High Court recently held that doctors who were first appointed temporarily in regular posts and later regularised are entitled to count their entire service period for admission under the in-service quota for super-speciality medical courses.
Passing the order, Justice M Dhandapani directed the State Selection Committee to consider such doctors as eligible in-service candidates by counting even their temporary service as qualifying service.

UP: Newborn Dies During Delivery Attempt in Ambulance, Probe Ordered
In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, a seven-month pregnant woman underwent a delivery attempt inside an ambulance, resulting in the death of her unborn child under horrifying circumstances.
According to the news reports, the pregnant woman, a resident of the Kudraha area, went into premature labor while being transported in an ambulance to a Community Health Centre. Her husband stated that the situation worsened rapidly when her labor pains intensified just before reaching the hospital.
