Over 554 locations across India designated for NEET 2024; International venues excluded
The registration process for NEET 2024 is currently underway. Along with the application form, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the information bulletin, listing down the exam cities along with city codes where the NEET 2024 will be conducted.
This year's NEET will not be conducted outside the country, and natiowide the exam cities have been increased from 499 from last year to 554 this year. Last year, the NTA conducted NEET 2023 in 14 exam centres abroad for admission to MBBS, BDS and other UG courses in Indian medical colleges.

PM lays down foundation stone for AIIMS Rewari; six more AIIMS set for inauguration next week
PM Modi to inaugurate six new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) next week, complementing the initiation of AIIMS in Rewari, Haryana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid down the foundation stone for AIIMS Rewari today marking a significant development in healthcare infrastructure. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 1650 crore, will feature a comprehensive hospital complex offering 720 beds, a medical college with 100 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, and an AYUSH Block with 30 beds.
High Court directs FSSAI to inspect all edible goods within the municipality
The Delhi High Court has mandated the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to devise a comprehensive plan for conducting a food safety audit across Delhi. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora, forming the bench, directed FSSAI, the leading body in food safety, to outline a strategy for sampling and testing all food products within the city. The court intends for this plan to be documented and subsequently enforced by the Delhi government.
This directive came during the proceedings of a suo motu case, initiated back in 2010, following a report on the hazardous use of certain pesticides in vegetable cultivation, which are linked to serious health issues. The court has also requested the Delhi government and FSSAI to provide detailed information on the extent of current testing efforts in the city, including the availability of testing kits, and the budget allocated for these safety measures.
Uttarakhand will start India's first helicopter service for medical emergencies
India is set to launch its first Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) from Uttarakhand, announced Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. In a statement shared via video on X, Scindia conveyed to the residents of Uttarakhand the commencement of the nation's inaugural HEMS, emphasizing the government's commitment to enhancing emergency medical care.
