Bihar women demands kidney for kidney from doctor

Bihar woman has alleged that her kidneys have been fraudulently removed and stolen by a doctor at a private clinic in the Muzaffarpur District. The woman has now demanded the kidneys of the accused doctor be transplanted for her survival, as she has been on regular dialysis since September.

She has been battling for life for nearly 2 months and is currently on regular dialysis for survival at the state-run Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur since September.

Opining that by permitting fake pharmacists to run medical stores, it will be playing with the life of the citizens, the Supreme Court has sought the Bihar Government about the steps being taken to stop the functioning fake pharmacists.

The issue of fake pharmacists functioning in the State was raised by Mukesh Kumar who had filed a Public Interest Litigation before the Patna High Court. The petitioner alleged that in several government-run Hospitals, the persons, who are not a registered Pharmacist are being allowed to discharge the function of a Pharmacist. At some places, even the Clerks, Staff Nurse etc. have been assigned with the duty to be performed only by a registered Pharmacists, the plea had alleged.

HC directs Rajarajeshwari medical college to refund extra MBBS fees collected from students with interest

Coming to the rescue of 29 MBBS students belonging to Rajarajeshwari Medical College, the Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the institute to refund the excess amount collected from them, which was over and above the fee prescribed by the State Government, during the academic year 2017-2018 to 2020-2021.

As per the earlier recommendation made by the Admission Overseeing Committee, the college will have to return the extra amount with 6 per cent interest, adds TNIE.

Menopause: HRT linked to depression

The findings of this study of women in Denmark followed up from age 45 suggest that systemically administered (oral or transdermal) hormonal therapy before and during menopause is associated with higher risk of depression, especially in the years immediately after initiation, whereas locally administered (intravaginal or intrauterine) hormonal therapy is associated with lower risk of depression for women 54 years or older.
