Delhi reports 1,323 fresh Covid-19 infections on Thursday

More than 1,323 new cases of Covid-19 infections were reported in Delhi on Thursday. Now, the total Covid cases stands at 3,948. The city recorded two deaths due to the infection.

Despite the rise in the positivity rate, the Delhi government is not implementing graded response action plan (GRAP) devised by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority since the hospital admissions are low.

NMC defines graded penalties for professional misconduct

For the first time, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has defined the graded levels of penalties that would be given to doctors for violation of rules specified in the recently released Draft Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Misconduct) Regulations 2022.

In this manner, the Apex Medical body is trying to bring uniformity across the country regarding the assessment of liability and award of disciplinary action in case of Professional Misconduct committed by the medical professionals in India.

Glenmark launches FDC asthma medication in India

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, an innovation-driven global pharmaceutical company has launched the novel fixed-dose combination (FDC) drug - Indacaterol + Mometasone for patients suffering from uncontrolled asthma, in India.

The company has launched this FDC under the brand name Indamet. The drug will be available in three strengths with a fixed dose of Indacaterol 150 mcg and variable doses of Mometasone 80 mcg, 160 mcg, and 320 mcg respectively, to be taken once daily.

GMCs in every district, MBBS seats to go up to 5,240 in Telangana

With eight more Government medical college coming up in the State, the total number of Government medical seats in Telangana is go up to 5,240 after establishing a medical college in every district, opined the State in a recent release on Tuesday.

Referring to the fact that the number of MBBS seats in the state has been increased from 700 in 2014 to 1,649 in 2021, the State also discussed about the growing belief of people in the public healthcare system of the State.

In Kolkata: Polio virus found in sewage, medical experts dismiss resurgence fears

WHO has declared India a polio-free country, eight years later fears were dreaded as the polio virus was found in the city sewage and found inactive.

The medical experts have dispelled polio resurgence fears and examined the virus found in the city sewage waters.

A senior official of the West Bengal Health department said the polio virus found in the sewage of Borough No 15 in the city's Metiabruz area is a 'vaccine virus' and is not threatening.
