In a move aimed at enhancing patient care, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS Delhi has installed a state-of-the-art surgical robot in its department of surgical disciplines, becoming one of the first government hospitals in India to acquire such cutting-edge technology.
The introduction of robotic surgery underscores AIIMS’s commitment to enhancing patient care, enabling the execution of complex procedures with unmatched precision, and keeping pace with global advancements in medical technology, said Dr Hemang Bhattacharjee, professor of surgery at AIIMS.

The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is inviting applications for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) for the academic year 2025.
As per the notice issue in this regard, this year, NBE is going to conduct NEET MDS on a computer-based platform at various exam centres across the country on April 19, 2025. The result is expected to be declared by 19th May 2025. Meanwhile, candidates willing to appear for the exam can submit the application form from tomorrow i.e., February 18, 2025, at 03:00 PM to March 10, 2025, at 11:55 PM.

The complainant, a 39-year-old doctor, alleged that she received two threatening phone calls from the accused while on her way to the hospital. According to the FIR, the caller warned her to drop the rape case, threatened to kill her, and claimed to know about her whereabouts. Distressed by the threats, she immediately contacted the police helpline which led to the registration of a fresh FIR on Friday.

Following an inquiry by the Director of Medical Education into the brutal ragging incident involving first-year students at the Government College of Nursing, Kottayam, the principal and an assistant professor have been suspended.
The principal Sulekha A T, and assistant professor/assistant warden-in-charge of the students hostel Ajeesh P Mani of the college were suspended pending enquiry for allegedly failing to check ragging and effectively intervene in the matter, a statement issued by the Health Minister's office Friday late night said, news agency PTI reported.
