Expressing their disappointment over the newly released Draft Teachers Eligibility Qualifications 2024, including the definition of "transition period" and making PhD mandatory for non-medical teachers to be allowed to teach in medical colleges, the Medical MSc Degree teachers have urged the National Medical Commission (NMC) to reverse these proposed regulations.
Speaking to Medical Dialogues about the matter, the Secretary of the National MSc Medical Teachers' Association (NMMTA), Dr. Ayan Das said that NMC should re-implement the 1998 regulations which were "balanced" and which did not exclude the Medical MSc Degree teachers from the pool of faculties for the medical colleges.

In the reported MBBS exam scam from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, authorities have now decided to conduct a thorough scrutiny of answer sheets of all annual and supplementary exams held in both government and private medical colleges across Haryana in the last five years.
In this regard, an order has recently been issued by the VC stating that “As the inquiry committee suggested in its report on February 13, another committee is constituted to scrutinise the answer sheets and records of previous batches who can also be involved in this scam so that further necessary action as per the findings and rules may be taken.”

The medical students pursuing their Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses at the civic-run hospitals in Mumbai are upset with the delayed implementation of the assured stipend hike.
Last year, the State Government approved a Rs 10,000 hike in the monthly stipend paid to the DNB students. However, HT has reported that the same has yet to be implemented.
