Counseling for bond service pending for months: Karnataka medicos demand cancellation of bond terms
With continuous delays regarding the counselling for compulsory bond service, the final year undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Karnataka are facing an uncertain future as they are unable to join anywhere else before fulfilling the bond terms.
Frustrated over the continuous postponement for time and again, around 7,000 MBBS and 3,000 MD/MS students of the State have now started questioning the government claiming the State medical education system to be a "failure".

Delhi COVID cases: the two-fold rise in hospitalizations in over two weeks
Amid a spike in the COVID cases in the capital, the rate of hospitalization has nearly doubled in over two weeks.
According to data released by the Delhi State Health Bulletin, hospital admissions have increased since August 1. The number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital has increased from 307 to 588, with 205 still needing oxygen support and 22 still requiring ventilator support. As of August 16, there were 202 ICU admissions doubled from 98 on August 1.

HC slams medical college for 'Bench Hunting', upholds Rs 10 lakh costs
Slamming a Rajasthan based medical institute for "Bench Hunting", the Principal Bench of Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur recently upheld the Singe Judge bench order directing the institute to pay a heavy cost of Rs 10 lakh.
Therefore, denying to reduce the amount of cost, the HC bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani observed, "Though, learned counsel for the appellant prayed that in the alternative the cost amount may be reduced, having upheld the order of the learned Single Judge on merits and the manner in which the appellant sought to abuse the process of law, it being an Institution and not a poor person belonging to marginalized section of the society, even in the matter of imposition of cost, we find no ground to interfere."
