Doctors should write generic, non-proprietary, pharmacological names only: NMC prescription guidelines
Doctors should prescribe medicines with "generic"/"non-proprietary"/"pharmacological" names only, the recently released draft Prescription guidelines by the National Medical Commission (NMC) have stated.
The Prescription guidelines form an integral part of the draft of the National Medical Commission Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2022 recently released by the NMC.

Dr NTR University of Health Sciences invites applications for UG Student Research Scholarships 2022
Dr NTR University of Health Sciences has invited applications for Under Graduate Student Research Scholarships-2022 (UGSRS) program under Research & Development Department. The students of MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Nursing, and Physiotherapy of the respective affiliated colleges can apply before they appear in their final exams.
PG and intern students are not eligible for this program. The application and research proposal should be submitted along with the application attestation form as available on the university website www.ntruhs.ap.nic.in duly certified by the guide and head of the institution.

Take even 1 case as an outbreak: Government's guideline on monkey pox
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued 'Guidelines on Management of Monkeypox Disease' to states and Union Territories in view of the increasing reports of cases in the non-endemic countries also.
The ministry said even one case is to be considered an outbreak. Though there are no reported cases of monkeypox disease in the country, as of the date.

Over 1 million youth started smoking daily, most used JULL e-cigarettes: US study
Accordingly to new research, around 2,300 adolescents and young adults became addicted to new tobacco smoking in the US over the period of 2017-2019 with the total number of users under 21 years of age vaping (using e-cigarettes) increasing to over 1 million by 2019.
Of these, 56.3 percent used Juul products in particular, as per the research by John Pierce of the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, and colleagues in the May 30, 2022 edition of the online journal Pediatrics.
