Expressing serious disappointment towards Patanjali Ayurved for neglecting to submit a response to its notice, the Supreme Court issued a contempt notice to Baba Ramdev (Co-founder of Patanjali) and has summoned him along with its Managing Director Acharya Balakrishna to appear in court in person in the next hearing.

The court issued the directive while hearing the case, as the firm did not comply with a contempt notice related to Patanjali's breach of commitment to stop publishing misleading advertisements about medicinal cures.

Video of Medanta hospital chief promoting weight loss drug is a deepfake

The menace of "deepfake" seems to be stricking the top physicians in India and the latest victim in this regard is renowned Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Naresh Trehan.

Dr. Trehan, the Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, can be seen featured in a fabricated video endorsing a particular weight loss medication. Filing a police complaint in this regard, Medanta alleged that the 35-second clip has potential to create panic and confusion by making false claims about a medical breakthrough for obesity.

India exceeds WHO guidelines with doctor-to-population ratio of 1:900

In a significant stride towards bolstering healthcare infrastructure, India has surpassed the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommended doctor-to-population ratio, achieving a commendable ratio of 1:900, announced Bhubaneswar Kalita, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare.

Kalita emphasized that ''investing in health and hygiene is not just a moral imperative, it is an economic necessity''.

No annual declaration, no MBBS permission: NMC directs medical colleges to fill in details on online portal

Stating that the submission of the Annual Declaration Form on the National Medical Commission's (NMC) portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission of undergraduate MBBS seats, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC has directed all medical colleges to fill their details on NMC portal.

The NMC has further warned that no seat will be permitted if any medical college fails to submit the annual declaration within the deadline.
