5 emergency seats at MGM Indore approved by NMC
The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently approved five postgraduate medical seats in the emergency medicine department of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGM), Indore.
Bringing good news to the postgraduate medical aspirants in Madhya Pradesh, these new PG Emergency Medicine seats will be available for admission for the academic session 2023-2024.

NEET SS: Supreme Court allows DM, MCH, DNB SS candidates to resign from allotted seats
Granting interim relief to eleven National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET-SS) aspirants, the Supreme Court bench has now allowed them to resign from the Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats allocated to them.
Although these doctors had also challenged the amount of penalty imposed by the concerned universities for resigning from their seats, the top court bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and Manoj Mishra has clarified that the answer to the question of such a penalty would be subject to the outcome of the case.

Supreme Court likely to hear matter on friday regarding postponement of NEET PG
The Supreme Court is likely to hear the plea seeking postponement of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) Examination on Friday.
Sharing this information on Twitter, the National Chairman of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Dr Rohan Krishnan stated, "Supreme court is last hope. Supreme Court hearing is on friday.(tentative) NMC is not vry positive. Shall try to persue @NMC_IND."

For making false claims for diabetes cure, Tamil Nadu Medical Council to take action against Pediatrician
A Kanyakumari-based paediatrician has landed in trouble for allegedly making fake claims and promising magical remedies for curing diabetes, with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council planning to suspend his medical license for one year as part of disciplinary action.
The Medical Council appointed a disciplinary committee after receiving complaints from senior doctors. The complaint stated that the paediatrician's photo was published in an advertisement that claimed that the doctor had reportedly cured a police superintendent of diabetes.

Orissa High Court issues contempt notices for forging medical certificate
Observing that forged medical certificates had been submitted for obtaining an interim bail for an accused person, the Orissa High Court has recently issued contempt notices to two persons allegedly involved in forging the medical certificates.
The bench comprising Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo expressed severe dismay over the conduct of the said persons and noted, "Due process of law is blinkered by acts or conduct of the parties to the litigation or witnesses or generate tendency to impede or undermine the free flow of the unsullied stream of justice by blatantly resorting, with impunity, to fabricate Court proceedings to thwart fair adjudication of dispute and its resultant end."

CDSCO panel seeks data for Eli Lilly's anticancer drug Selpercatinib
In response to the drug major Eli Lilly's proposal to waive off Phase IV clinical trial in the country for the Selpercatinib 40 & 80mg capsules, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) functional under the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has opined that the firm should submit the criteria of dose justification, comparative safety data for the Indian patients, and the Global study particularly ICH countries who participated in the study by including all adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse effects (SAEs).
