Delhi Court rejects Kejriwal’s plea for regular consultation with doctor
In a recent development, a Delhi court rejected Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea for daily consultations with a doctor via video conference and administration of insulin in Tihar Jail. However, the court directed the authorities of AIIMS-Delhi to form a medical board to evaluate Mr. Kejriwal's health needs, particularly concerning his diabetes. This decision came after concerns were raised about Mr. Kejriwal's diet and the management of his condition in jail.
The court instructed the AIIMS Medical Board to determine if specialized consultation is necessary and to prescribe a suitable diet and exercise plan. It emphasized that Mr. Kejriwal must adhere strictly to the prescribed diet, even if it means his home-cooked meals need adjustment. This ruling follows allegations that Mr. Kejriwal had been consuming items such as mangoes and sweets to manipulate his blood sugar levels for legal advantage.
