Every harm, intimidation, obstruction or hindrance to healthcare professionals is violence: Kerala HC
Observing that even an act of intimidation or obstruction or hindrance to a healthcare service person is a non-bailable offence under the Kerala Healthcare Service Persons and Healthcare Service Institutions Act 2012 (Healthcare Act), the Kerala High Court recently denied granting anticipatory bail to a person who allegedly restrained a doctor from performing her duty.
The "No" from the High Court bench comprising of Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas came as it opined that granting anticipatory bail to a person booked for committing an offence under Healthcare Act would send wrong message to public.

Pfizer sued for patent infringement over COVID-19 drug Paxlovid
Pfizer Inc's blockbuster COVID-19 treatment Paxlovid violates an Enanta Pharmaceuticals Inc patent for its COVID drug still in development, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Boston federal court.
Watertown, Massachusetts-based Enanta told the court it received the patent for its antiviral medication last week based on applications dating from July 2020. The company said it began human testing for its once-daily, oral COVID treatment in February, and that the Food and Drug Administration fast-tracked its review in March.

NMC directs All State Medical Councils to register additional qualifications of PG students against permitted seats
Responding to the queries of PG medicos who had been facing trouble with the registration of their qualifications with respective medical councils post COVID pandemic era, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all the State Medical Councils to register additional qualifications of the first four batches of PG degree (MD, MS) and three batches of PG diploma courses against permitted seats.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Delhi) released the final revised seat position for admission to PG courses of INIs for the INI-CET July 2022 session.
A total of 953 seats are available for admission to PG courses of INIs for the INI-CET July 2022 session.
