PM Modi inaugurates free-of-cost medical college & hospital in Karnataka
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at Chikkaballapur today. SMSIMSR will provide medical education and quality medical care - completely free of cost - to all. The institute will start functioning in the academic year 2023.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister noted that Chikballapur is the birthplace of one of the architects of modern India, Sir M M Visvesvaraya and expressed gratitude for getting the opportunity to pay tribute to his samadhi and visit his museum. “I bow my head before this virtuous land”, the Prime Minister remarked.

Study finds how road noise linked with high blood pressure
A recent study published in JACC: Advances has revealed that long-term exposure to road traffic noise can increase the risk of hypertension.
Researchers found that long-term exposure to air pollution and road traffic noise was associated with an elevated risk of developing incident primary hypertension, and air pollution and traffic noise exposure was linked to a higher likelihood of hypertension.

Post-mortem or injury reports prepared by doctors should be in typed format and legible: HC asks UP Govt to issue directions to CMOs
Opining that postmortem reports or injury reports prepared by the doctors should be in typed format and legible, the Allahabad High Court bench has recently asked the Principal Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Medical Health and Family Welfare Department to issue proper direction to all the Chief Medical Officers of the State in this regard.
"The Senior Registrar of this Court is directed to forward a copy of this order to the Principal Secretary, Medical Health and Family Welfare Government of U.P. Lucknow forthwith for necessary compliance," read the order by HC bench of Justice Brij Raj Singh.
