NMC warns medical colleges against non implementation of Aadhaar enabled biometric attendance system, HMIS, CCTV connection
Warning the medical colleges who have not implemented NIC Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS), Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and connection of CCTVs feed to Comrnand & Control Centre, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked them to take necessary action immediately to "prevent adverse actions against them."
The Information Technology Section of NMC issued the warning on January 25, 2023 after taking note of the fact that despite various reminders and requests, several medical colleges did not fully implement the IT initiatives of the Commission.

NMC Mandate: Medical Colleges, standalone PG institutions now required to enrol as adverse drug reactions monitoring centers under PvPI
Aiming to uplift regulatory standards for the overall collection, analysis and monitoring of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) from the public, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges and standalone PG institutions to enrol themselves as Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring Centers.
The mandate to this effect issued under the authority of the Secretary I/C at NMC, Dr Pulkesh Kumar, calls for the enrollment of recognised Medical Colleges, hospitals and standalone PG institutes as Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) Monitoring Centers with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) at the earliest.

Union Minister Ashwini Choubey’s brother dies in Bihar; two doctors suspended after relatives claim negligence
In an unfortunate incident, Union Minister Ashwini Choubey's brother Nirmal Choubey died of alleged medical negligence at the JLN Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) in Bihar's Bhagalpur on Friday night. Choubey’s relatives alleged that there was no single doctor in the ICU, following which two doctors were suspended.
Relatives of Choubey claimed that he died because of negligence.
