Union Budget 2022: Health Highlights
On the occasion of presenting the Union Budget 2022, the Union Health Minister initiated her speech with a focus of healthcare infrastructure in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. She also referred to the immense improvement in Healthcare in the last two years and expressed her confidence to withstand challenges.
Finance Minister Sitharaman pointed out the importance of strengthening the health infrastructure especially in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Revise Cutoff Score For NEET PG Counselling Mop-Up Round: Doctors Write To Union Health Minister
Pointing out that the country while combating the pandemic cannot afford any vacant seats, the doctors under the umbrella of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has recently written to the Union Health Minister seeking a revision in the qualifying score in the mop-up round of NEET PG counselling.
In a letter directed to the Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, FAIMA has referred to the fact that every year large number of seats, including clinical, paraclinical as well as non clinical remain vacant because enough candidates above the Cut off do not opt for those seats.

DoP invites third round of applications for leftover slots under PLI scheme
In order to promote domestic manufacturing of critical key starting materials (KSMs), drug intermediates (DI), and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) , the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) has issued a notice inviting applications from eligible companies to set up facilities under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for the third time for the leftover slots.
The new notice calls for a maximum of 14 applicants to develop key fermentation-based KSMs and DIs, as well as fermentation-based niche KSMs, DIs, or APIs, and four applicants to develop key chemical synthesis-based KSMs or DIs.
