Patient died of fatal diffuse axonal injury, NCDRC exonerates doctor of medical negligence
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently exonerated an Amritsar-based doctor from the charges of medical negligence while treating a patient suffering from accidental injuries.
Although family claimed that the patient had died because of the delayed and wrong treatment given by the doctor, the top consumer court noted that the doctor had insisted to take the patient to higher facilities and provided First-aid treatment as per the reasonable standard of practice.

Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has invited online applications for admission to PG Medical and Dental courses, MD, MS and MDS under Government/All India (Management Quota seats) for the academic year 2022-23.
The application window will remain open till 11th July 2022. The counselling for admission to Post Graduate Medical/Dental Degree courses for the year 2022-23 will be done by CENTAC. The candidate seeking admission must apply online through the CENTAC website (www.centacpuducherry.in) as per the schedule notified. Registration after the due date will not be entertained.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has shown concern over the spread of monkeypox in children, pregnant women and individuals with weak immune systems.
While the virus did manifest earlier in children, this reportedly the first in the recent outbreak, now confirmed in more than 3,000 patients spread across over 50 countries that are both endemic and non-endemic to the infection.
